For decades, African American families have been trying to protect their children from police violence with advice such as this. The umpteenth incident, the death of George Floyd, throws gasoline onto an already raging fire and unleashes a national storm of protests. On the eve of the elections, The Black Lives Matter movement demands to have a conversation with America, but tensions are running high and people are increasingly arming themselves: is talking still possible?
