FUFU AND SOUP

The morning of Dekontee’s 29th birthday begins with a podcast warning women about the decline in marriage prospects after a certain age. The news sends her into a spiral over her inexperience, worried she might be running out of chances at love. She receives a suggestive birthday text from Ryan, a long-time crush and impulsively decides she’s losing her virginity later that night at her birthday party. Dek reveals her plans to skeptical friends, who ultimately support her antics. Later at the party, things heat up between Dek and Ryan but his rushed performance leaves her unimpressed, and she kicks him out mid-hookup. As the night winds down, Dekontee and her girls reflect on the encounter and share stories over a bowl of fufu and soup.
