Dayo Kefentse is a dynamic media and communications leader. Seeing a need for increased media and digital literacy, she launched a boutique agency in 1999, which was re-branded as DAYO Media & Communications (DM&C) in 2006. DM&C intersects the best of journalism and communications to craft and create stories that get noticed!
Dayo’s career took flight as an on-air journalist on CBC Radio Toronto’s ‘Metro Morning’ and ‘Here & Now’. She has contributed as a writer for a variety of media outlets including, CITY News, Global News and The Toronto Star. Among her roles, she was the inaugural Director of Communications at Ryerson University’s Office of the Vice-President of Equity and Community Inclusion.
Speaker: Patricia Bebia Mawa: Executive Vice President, Silvertrust Media & Afroglobal Television
Patricia Bebia Mawa is the Executive Vice President of Silvertrust Media and Afroglobal Television. She has directed and produced over 15 television programs including The Visionaries and Standing Ovation. She is the writer and director of the new drama series Omobella Palace. Patricia is the Associate Publisher of Excellence, Envision and Destiny Magazines. Chair of Reelworld Screen Institute, she is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth 11 Diamond Jubilee Medal. Patricia and her husband Moses have been featured on CNN International in a half hour special. In March 2016, the duo launched Afroglobal Television, a 24-hour television channel. In 2018, they co-authored the 150 Extraordinary Canadians Legacy book.
