TORONTO (January 19, 2017) – The Toronto Black Film Festival (TBFF), one of Canada’s premier festivals for black films, announces its full programming line-up with a focus on black global diversity. Returning for its fifth edition during Black History Month, February 15-19, #TBFF17 welcomes filmmakers, actors and audiences to Toronto for the 5-day event. The Festival will kick off with Emmy-Award-Winner Stanley Nelson’s TELL THEM WE ARE RISING: The Story of Historically Black Colleges and Universities at Isabel Bader Theatre and will close with South African film The Lucky Specials by Rea Rangaka. This year’s festival also showcases the TBFF Black Market which includes a Masterclass with Emmy-winning filmmaker Sudz Sutherland and Gemini-winning filmmaker Jennifer Holness; a Movie-Talk with filmmaker Corey Grant; a Workshop on how to make Webseries as well as a Tribute and Masterclass with Oscar-winner Louis Gossett Jr.
