Music Performance: Rudy Ray
Rudy Ray Kwaku is a Ghanaian - Canadian actor and trumpeter based in Toronto. Famed for his involvement with the Wu Tang Clan, Juno award nominations and a growing list of cameos in blockbuster movies CBC articles identified the Ghanaian royal as a rising thinker and cultural icon. His music explores acoustic and electronic expressions of African, Jazz and Hip-Pop, Afro-cuban and Brazilian music.
Rudy has performed as a leader and a sideman in several Canadian and International festivals including the Black Film Festival, TD Toronto Jazz Festival, TD Union Summer, Afrofest, Ciderfest, TD Markham Jazz Festival, Toronto International Film Festival and The Beaches International Jazz Festival. Rudy Ray has had the opportunity to work internationally in the United States, Portugal, Cape Verde and Cuba.
Spoken Word Performance: David Delisca
Born in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, and raised in West Palm Beach, Florida residing in Scarborough. David Delisca is a writer, poet, actor and humorist. A versatile artist, he uses stories about the immigrant and diasporic experience, as well as other various human realities, to bridge realms of communication. His works and performances have been featured in Toronto Star, CBC, Netflix.
