Two soldiers, Butch and Joe, have arrived safely home from the war in Vietnam. As they walk the city of San Francisco the two friends must adjust to the idea that though they survived combat, the things they saw and did in war left a permanent mark on them. Butch and Joe are hesitant to leave each other and face their families because their guilt.
